Monotypes
My monotypes are a type of monoprint. Monotypes are usually made by manipulating ink on a Perspex plate. The ink is applied or removed using various markmaking tools and methods and a print is taken by placing paper over the plate. It is a ‘one of a kind’ print that does not have multiple editions. It is effectively a painting on Perspex that is transferred onto paper. Once a print is pulled I often work into it by hand, smudging the ink whilst still wet. Many of my prints are have multi layers and some have elements of collage.
