Monotypes
Usually I produce an artwork with a particular place in mind, at other times, I begin with no preconceived idea apart from that of landscape. Half-way through making this print it became apparent that I was including features from the Walpole Wilderness, swampy grasslands, Paperbarks, rocks and the flat gleam of the ocean. Repeatedly visiting this area allows me to assemble a landscape that is not a static view but rather a selection of its highlights that lie in my subconscious.
