I have lived in Western Australia for 10 years now. Long enough for the bush to become a comfortable and familiar place. Winter means venturing out into the Perth Hills for bush walking as much as possible before the hot weather sets in. The Jarrah forest is so familiar to me now that these trees now feel like old friends. This painting is done with Art Spectrum Inks with some layers of Gesso to add depth. Art Spectrum Inks are pigmented so are light resistant and will not fade like other dye based inks. Before embarking on this large painting I did many smaller A3 studies to ensure that I was familiar with my subject.
