Painting Classes/Workshops
Learn to capture nature in this 5 week course where we simplify the plein air painting process and head outside with sketchbooks, gouache paint and lightweight chairs.

The first session will be held inside at Atwell house where we will make a simple handmade sketchbook with a variety of papers in which to work over the coming weeks. We will also learn some basic gouache painting techniques and discuss what to bring and simple set ups for working comfortably outdoors (no easels or heavy painting boxes required).
The 4 remaining sessions will be held outside in bushland parks south of the river including Wireless Hill and Manning Park. Each location will have a carpark and a toilet but expect to walk about 5-10 minutes from you car with a lightweight chair and a small backpack. Dress warm as we will painting in all weathers (unless weather is severe). Undercover areas are planned for wet days so that you can embrace capturing the elements without getting wet.
Come with a sense of adventure and a flask of hot tea and experience the joys of plein air painting in a supportive small group.
Papers are provided for the handmade sketchbook but you will need to bring your own painting and drawing materials.
