Expressive Landscapes Painting Class
Expressive Landscapes Painting Class

Term 2 will run for 5 weeks from 21 May - 18 June 2024.

This regular weekly art class runs each term and welcomes both new and existing students. Tuesday mornings from 9 - 11:30am at Atwell House.

Explore landscape painting in acrylics in this 4 week course and learn about colour, composition, value, mark making techniques, brush handling and more. These concepts are explored in class through experimental exercises and demonstrations are given every week. Students are encouraged to find their own voice and explore a subject matter within the landscape that inspires them. Although photographs are often used as a starting point for paintings Bridget will share some of her expressive painting techniques and tips on how to loosen up. The course is typically structured with exercises in the first two weeks and then time to compete a painting of a landscape of your choice in the remaining two weeks. Explore a different aspect of landscape painting each term with themes such as rocks, trees, rural and arid scenes. Please bring your own materials to class.
