This class is all about playful printmaking and learning to think outside the box, exploring textures, mark making and layering through creative techniques and approaches.
Term 2 we will be exploring the printmaking technique of collagraphy. We will be creating printing plates with textured gesso and other mediums working in a loose way that lends itself to abstraction and experimentation. Play with masking techniques, solvent effects and gorgeous colour. We will learn about intaglio inking up methods, how to layer colour and pointers for creating a good composition. We use richly colored oil based printing inks but clean up using vegetable oil.
All printmaking materials, use of small press, tools and inks are included in the price but you will need to supply your own watercolour paper.
