Karri trees are amongst the tallest trees on earth. When in their forests, one has to crane ones neck to see the tops and the undergrowth is a riot of green. This painting is a combination of two plein air paintings that I did in the Karri forests of Cape Leeuwin national park. In one of my studies it started to rain softly and in the other the mist was rising.
