Bookings on Eventbrite
Monotype is a form of printmaking that does not require cutting or engraving. Instead ink is applied in various ways to a plate of Perspex to create an image. The print is taken by transferring the ink from Perspex to paper. Once the print has been taken it cannot be repeated, giving it the name monotype. This immediate technique gives quick results and can be done at home with minimal equipment. Bridget has been honing her skills in this method for many years and will share some of her favourite techniques with you. This term we will combine printmaking with collage, working with beautiful coloured papers and exciting mark making. This playful combination of collage and print will lead us to investigate composition, colour and value in a relaxed setting. Your choice of subject.
All printmaking materials, tools and inks are included in the price but you will need to supply some of your own paper. Please wait for the first class before purchasing your own paper. Paper is available to buy in class or Jacksons nearby.
