Granite rocks are places of inspiration. Rocky islands in a sea of trees, that support unique plants and creatures. An open place to stop, survey the view and rest a while. Lizards are always present. This painting gains inspiration from photos I took whilst crouching down on granite to get a lizards eye view of my surroundings in Cape Le Grande National Park. The scale changes, rust stained rain paths become large rivers, rocks become mountains and shrubs turn into trees.
