Baladjie rock is a granite outcrop situated near Southern Cross, a site that I have visited numerous times. It marks the geographical divide between the cultivated wheatbelt and the vast woodlands that sprawl across the south west interior of Western Australia. I usually prefer to look east to the wilderness but this time I looked south, the wheatbelt glowing green gold in the early spring light.
