The story behind this painting.
In September 2019 we spent a week in the remote range lands of Helena and Aurora Ranges (Western Australia). This is an area of banded iron stone hills and open woodland right in the heart of mining country - it is a place of fragile beauty and home to many rare species. On one of our walks we walked above and traversed an enchanting valley of tall white-limbed gums that stood out brightly against the deep red earth. Painted from memory.
